Looking after your eyes at home
With over ten years of experience specialising in domiciliary eyecare across the Southwest, the team at Atlantic Home Eyecare provide a full, thorough service at every point of the eyecare journey. From a comprehensive examination with our optometrist, to qualified, optician-led spectacle dispensing, to any medical referrals or other ancillary services - all with patience, care and enjoyment. If you struggle to get out to see an optician, you can stay on top of your eyecare with professionals who are trained and experienced in delivering it in your own home.
Call us to make an appointment, or even just with any questions you may have. For the overwhelming majority of our patients who can’t get out to an optician, the NHS will contribute towards an examination at home. We cover large areas in the Southwest - you can see our regular areas on this map. If you live slightly outside of these areas, we're still happy to come and see you; it might just mean a slightly longer wait.

All of our clinical staff are professionally trained and registered opticians, who have refined their clinical skills in the home environment.
They work to combine high-end, knowledgeable professional care with the flexibility and individuality that a local business can provide. They also enjoy their work! Since 2008, our opticians and owners, Kevin and Ben, have worked together in practice, with a special interest in home eyecare. The success of their extensive domiciliary work led to Atlantic Home Eyecare, where they now specialise in examinations at home full-time across Devon and Cornwall.
KEVIN ROBERTS, OPTOMETRIST
Kevin started his optical career with a qualification in dispensing optics from his native South Africa, before attaining a BSc Honours degree in Optometry in the UK.
After graduating from City University, London, in 1996, he completed his professional qualification exams in 1997 and ever since then, he's worked in a wide variety of optical practices - from small independents to busy high street opticians.
Kevin currently lives in the Ilfracombe area with his wife and children. When he gets chance he most enjoys getting in the water for a surf, whether in the UK or in more far-flung reaches of the globe.
BEN BREWER, DISPENSING OPTICIAN
Ben has worked in optics since 2003 and qualified as a dispensing optician in 2012. In that time he's helped thousands of patients with different optical needs to match their prescription and lifestyle to the right frame and lenses.
As well as working as a dispensing optician, Ben is trained as a spectacle laboratory technician, having a wide experience of glasses manufacture and repair - working on hundreds of pairs of spectacles at every stage now allows him to better choose frame and lens materials that will work best with patients’ individual requirements.
Ben lives with his wife and daughter near Barnstaple, spending as much time as possible either running around the countryside or making music.
